Thirteen years of experience in different aspects of the security field.
I first started my apprenticeship with EXCALIBUR BODYGUARDS during 1997 in DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA. I served an apprenticeship for over a year before completing my first close protection course with Excalibur in 1999. After which I was employed on a full time basis for a period of three and a half years.
During this time, Excalibur held the ministerial contract in DURBAN and the majority of my VIP's were ANC politicians. These included the Minister of Health, Secretary General, Mayor of Durban, Deputy Mayor to name a few. Other roles and responsibilities I had were that of an armourer in the sense of security of firearm safe and issuing firearms, not fixing weapons and firearms instructor for civilians and employees. During my final year of employment with Excalibur, I was a member of the TASK TEAM sent on high risk jobs - TAXI VIOLENCE UNIT.
In 2001 I joined the British Military serving four years and six months with the 1st battalion The ROYAL SCOTS, now 1st battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland. During this time I completed two operational tours, the first being in KNESEVO, BOSNIA carrying out a policing role and the second in BASRA, IRAQ as the Officer Commanding B company's Personal Security Driver and member of his Personal Protection Team. Other roles during my service were that of a recruiter, sniper and work in the intelligence cell. I also completed a junior promotion course and awarded my Lance Corporal qualification.
After my service in the military I work on a self-employed basis as a Collection Officer for ScreensafeUK ltd. Screening people in various work environments for DRUGS & ALCOHOL in the work place by means of Urine, Hair, Breadth and DNA.
Contracted to SSS Scotland as a door steward as well as doing asset protection and some close protection work.
2007 I joined Lothian and Borders Police with whom I served with until March 2009 as a Constable, whereupon I pursued a career in the private security industry.
In 2008, I completed my second high risk close protection course with RONIN, who are based in CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA.

PPO for high profile US celebrity, family member and entourage in JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA whilst on contract for NICHOLLS-STEYN & Associates.
Close Protection duties at the Bacardi - V Festival in Chelmsford. Duties included liaising with local security team, management and staff to create a safe, secure environment for celebrities and members on the guest list for the VIP entertainment area. On contract for PROCTOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES.
Safety and Security Co-Ordinator at the Bacardi B-Live Arena - Electric Picnic in County Laoise, Ireland. Duties included ensuring the B-Live Arena was fit to receive the public, liaise with various security and safety managers on the festival sites, briefing and directing security team of twelve, briefing Bacardi staff and creating a secure environment for celebrities and members on the guest list for the VIP entertainment area. On contract for PROCTOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES.
Advance security and Close Protection duties for the WWE superstars whilst at public apearances at Borders stores in Glasgow, Newcastle and Liverpool during November 2009. On contract for PROCTOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES.

Currently a Security Escort Team 2ic (Assistant Manager) and Acting Team Leader for Aegis on their Symphony Project across Northern Iraq. Protecting both US Military Personal as well as Department of State contractors working in conjunction with the Iraqi Air Force. Operations Manager (leave cover) managing watchkeepers, co-ordinated and monitored security teams and managed the central communications for the Tikrit location.
